Ouidah Slave History

Ouidah is a small town west of Cotonou in Benin. It is known for its history as a slave trading post. At several times in history either the Dutch, British, Danish, English or Portugese played a major role in this. The Portugese played the major role in this town. The museam (click) is located in the old portugese castle. Many links exist with Brazil, where most of the slaves were transported.
